"4.30am Wigan Casino" - An Original Oil Painting on Stretch Canvas by Northern Soul Artist Neil Thompson.

The painting shows a scene at Wigan Casino, the middle of the night, 4.30 am. The painting has over 50 dancers out on the floor, moving to the Northern Soul beat. Neil has been part of the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's and he is able to capture the moves that dancers make when dancing to Northern Soul. This is a scene from an all nighter, the subtle shades of darkness and light in the club are a highlight of the painting. There's vibrancy in every brushstoke - just looking at the painting and you could be back at the Casino!!

"4.30am Wigan Casino" measures 50 cm tall by 40 cm wide and has been completed on stretch canvas (that is canvas stretched on a wooden frame). 

This is a unique piece of art, there are no copies or prints.

Neil has been into the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's, all his art is drawn from memory. He was a regular at the Casino and many other Northern Soul clubs throughout the 1970's. His art is regarded by many people as an iconic part of the Northern Soul scene.
