ABOUT THIS PIECE

"It's a Demo"

An Original Water Colour Painting -  Mounted and Framed Ready for Display

"It's a Demo" is an original painting by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. The painting shows two Northern Soul lads - one selling a record to the other. For record collectors the search was always for rarity - if a record was a demo, this meant that it was a demonstration copy which was usually sent out to DJs to see how popular the track may be. A demo was worth a lot more than a normal record.

This is how it was back in the 70's - Neil captures the scene perfectly - from the dress of the two lads to the record boxes to the hold alls. Pure nostalgia - it's bound to make you smile!!

Neil has been part of the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's and as a result he is able to capture the details of characters on the Northern Soul scene.

Close up details from the painting can be seen in the supplementary images.

The painting has been mounted using a broad black mount, and framed using a black glazed frame.

The painting measures 17 cm tall by 12 cm wide. The overall size with the mount and ther frame is 31 cm by 26 cm.

The frame has an in built stand enabling it to be stood on any flat surface (please see image 1) or it can be wall hung (please see image 2.)

"It's a Demo" comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (please see image 5) and has Neil's logo dancing girl printed on the reverse (please see image 6.)

Post is free in the UK, the painting will be insured and dispatched via Royal Mail in a secure package.
