ABOUT THIS PIECE

"Breakout" Original Water Colour Painting

"Breakout" is an original water colour painting by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson.

The painting shows a packed Northern Soul dance floor with around 30 dancers dancing to the beat. This is a Northern Soul night club scene, Neil captures the shades of light on the dance floor perfectly. He's been into the Northern Soul scene since the 1970's, dancing, sketching and painting - he knows how the dancers move. You could be out there on the floor!!

All Neil's art is drawn from memory. He was a regular at Wigan Casino  and many other Northern Soul clubs throughout the 1970's. His art is regarded by many people as an iconic part of the Northern Soul scene.

The painting has been completed on 250 gram art paper, and measures 22 cm wide by 15 cm tall. The painting has been mounted using a classic ivory mount, and framed using a slim New Yorker style black frame. The overall size with the frame is 31.5 cm wide by 23 cm tall.

The painting can be wall hung, or the frame has a stand to display on any flat surface (see image 2).

Close up details from the painting can be seen in images 3 and 4.

"Breakout" comes with a Certificate of Authenticity - please see image 5.

The painting will be sent by Royal Mail, securely packaged.

Art collectors demand authenticity, for this reason all Neil's art has his dancing girl logo printed on the reverse, please see image 6. This, with the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity gives excellent provenance for all our art.
